An elderly artist gone blind transcends her illness with the help of her AI companion, Athena, in a heartfelt exploration of art, resilience, and human-tech collaboration.
Céline Ufenast is an experimental animator who grew up in Ticino, Switzerland. After moving to the UK for her studies, she graduated with a Bachelors in Animation (1sr class) at the University for the Creative arts (Farnham, UK). Her award-winning graduation film ‘@scroll_alice’ received over 40 festival selections and was nominated for Best Student Film at the 2022 British Animation Awards and for Best Experimental Short at the 2022 BFI Future Film Festival.
Her work tackles the themes of identity, technology, digital worlds and human (dis)connections.
Céline has obtained a Master’s degree in Global Media Industries from King’s College, London (UK).
She is currently working as an independent animator in Geneva, and as Awards coordinator for The Animation Showcase.
