The March of the Sunflowers

In the poor Brazilian countryside, Marialice lives with her family. One day, her father is forced to cook the farm’s only rooster. Without a rooster to sing in the morning, the Sun does not wake up, leaving the world in endless night. Determined to restore the day, Marialice follows the sunflowers on a journey to wake up the Sun, accompanied by her best friend, the Marquis Chick.

Ulisses da Cunha Tavares
Erick Ricco is a Director and DoP with a master in Cinematography at ESCAC (Spain). Erick was selected for the 2012 Berlinale Talent Campus Buenos Aires. His debut short-film “Balanços e Milkshakes” made the list of 100 Best Brazilian Animations. Currently, he is working in the pre-production of his first feature “The March of the Sunflowers”.
His work as a stop motion cinematographer was six times awarded at Cannes Lions.
