Neïl Beloufa's black comedy Occidental is now showing (almost) worldwide on Spamflix.
A visually and sonically striking ensemble piece that plays mischievous games with audience expectations – Hollywood Reporter
The streets of Paris are full of protesters. Antonio and Giorgio, an eccentric couple, take refuge in the Hotel Occidental. Diana, the hotel manager, instantly suspects their attitude and calls the police, leading the officers and the hotel crew to a series of absurd anecdotal events involving homophobia, racism, misogyny, terrorist threats and political manipulations.
First feature by the visual artist Neïl Beloufa, whose works were exhibited in the greatest museums such as Palais de Tokyo (Paris), MoMa (NY) and the Venice Biennale, Occidental premiered in the Berlinale 2017, and screened in festivals such as Toronto, Hong Kong, New York.
