A black and white fantasy film based on the Estonian bestseller, Rehepapp, by Andrus Kivirähk (2000).

Winner of the Cinematography prize in Tribeca and Best Estonian film prize at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Rainer Sarnet’s feature film is a bold, twisted fairy tale about unrequited love. In a poor Estonian village, a group of peasants use magic and folk remedies to survive the winter, and a young woman tries to get a young man to love her.
