Luis Alcoriza
In Lo que importa es vivir (lit. Living Is What Matters) the unknown Candelario arrives at a ranch and offers to work there in exchange for food and a shelter. To the surprise of the owner Lázaro and his wife Isabel, the ranch begins to prosper with the stranger's help. Soon Candelario and Isabel become lovers and when Lázaro finds out, he tries to punish them, but suffers an accident that leaves him with the intellect of a child. The lovers have a child and a family is formed, which scandalizes the local authorities.
